AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:  The maintenance employee is responsible for routine maintenance of the buildings both inside and outside, upkeep of the outside grounds, and maybe some janitorial functions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: One year experience in maintenance.  Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.  Ability to perform with little or no supervision.  Ability to deal with people in a pleasant and courteous manner.  Must maintain confidentiality relating to MVHC personnel, and information that could result in proprietary damage to MVHC.  Must possess current valid California or Oregon driver's license and auto liability insurance.

 

REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE:

Obtain current CPR card.

Clean and appropriate business attire.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: It is the maintenance employee’s responsibility to perform functions using universal precautions.

 

Janitorial/maintenance  

  • Clean windows on outside

  • Sweep sidewalks

  • Clean all light fixture

  • Strip and wax floor

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as required by each department.  Change light bulbs, replace faucets, flush hot water tank, “touch-up” paint, replace furnace filters, service water softening system, etc.

 

Perform grounds maintenance as required, i.e., apply weed killer, water and fertilize outdoor trees and plants, cut or pull weeds, pick up trash, etc.

 

Ensures that sidewalks are safe during inclement weather before patient and staff arrival.  Snowmelt is to be used to melt ice and snow shoveled.

Water and fertilize outdoor plants as required.

 

 

Submit list of cleaning supplies needed, weekly, to be ordered.

 

The maintenance person may be required to perform other duties as part of the clinic team.
