REPORTS TO: Chief Operations Officer (COO)/ Operations Manager
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for daily cleaning & sanitation of the interior of the building and all janitorial functions. Also responsible for other deep cleaning and interior building maintenance items as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: One-year experience in housekeeping/janitorial and/or maintenance role. Understands general cleaning methods and techniques. Good organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail. Informed on clinic health and safety requirements. Ability to understand instructions and read/understand directions. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Ability to perform work with limited supervision. Ability to interact with people in a pleasant and courteous manner. Must maintain confidentiality relating to MVHC personnel and patients, and information that could result in proprietary damage to MVHC. Must possess current valid California or Oregon ID card.
REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE:
Obtain current CPR card.
Clean and appropriate attire.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: It is the housekeeping/janitor employee’s responsibility to perform functions using universal precautions. These duties are to be performed according to the schedule & checklist that is provided.
Perform routine cleaning of all areas in the clinic, e.g. entrances and exits, common areas, offices, waiting rooms, staff lounge, kitchen, restrooms, exam rooms, etc.
Disinfect and thoroughly clean restrooms and exam rooms to meet patient/employee safety requirements.
Empty all waste baskets.
Clean inside windows; glass and windowsills
Clean all table-tops, sides, and handles on drawers and doors.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors daily and perform routine cleaning/stripping, waxing floors on rotating schedule.
Replenish soap, paper towels, and other bathroom supplies daily/as needed.
Submit list of cleaning supplies, weekly, to be ordered as needed.
Report safety hazards as appropriate.
Attend regular staff meetings and training courses as requested.
The janitorial/maintenance person may be required to perform other duties as assigned as part of the clinic team.
