Construction Project Manager
$25-$35/Hour (Temporary Position)

Areas of Responsibility: This is a temporary position to manage the renovation of Weed Health Center, anticipated to last approximately 6-8 months. The MVHC Construction Project Manager (PM) will manage the renovation of Weed Health Center, acting as the organization’s liaison between management and contractor(s) and engineer(s). The PM will also assist with setting up temporary quarters to house clinic services during renovation. The PM will collaborate with management in planning, budgeting, allocating resources, and providing timely completion of the project. The PM will ensure that the project is completed within the set budget and within the specified scope. The PM is responsible for understanding the project deliverables and timelines for different individuals and groups involved in the project to make sure the project remains on track. They must be familiar with the goals of the project and the responsibilities of all involved parties.
Qualifications: Associate degree in construction-related field, or previous construction management experience deemed suitable to perform the duties of this position. Previous hands-on construction experience. Analytical and management skills to monitor cost-effectiveness while resolving issues arising during the project’s completion. Good organizational skills, ability to determine potential risks while proactively seeking ways to solve them, understanding of construction budgeting, ability to accept feedback and act as MVHC’s liaison with construction staff. Excellent verbal and oral communication skills. Ability to use computer programs including Microsoft products in use by MVHC staff.

Duties and responsibilities:
1. Anticipate the work to be done, communicating with contractor staff on timelines. Maintain good, positive working relationship with contractor staff.
2. Coordinate communication between contractor and MVHC management. Advise MVHC management of any concerns regarding the project.
3. Ensure timely completion of the project by monitoring construction activities and notifying MVHC management of any delays.
4. Ensure adherence to budget by monitoring use of materials and labor as specified in project scope.
5. Communicate with local building officials as needed to maintain good relationships and ensure timely inspections, adherence to building requirements.
6. Work with MVHC staff as needed to ensure requirements are met for clinic licensing and provide information as needed.
7. Visit construction site daily to monitor activities and communicate back to MVHC management. It is anticipated the PM will spend 2-3 hours daily on the duties related to this position.
8. Attend meetings, both in person and virtually, to keep MVHC staff apprised of project progress.
9. Oversee and coordinate relocation of clinic services to temporary quarters, including placement of buildings, connection to services, relocation of staff, and removal of buildings at completion of project. Participate in planning and budgeting for temporary services as needed.

Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, walking, working on computer for extended periods of time, lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs., pulling, twisting, repetitive motion of hands, close eye work, listening, speaking in person or on the phone, reading, and handwriting. May be exposed to cold or heat while supervising construction.
